Dog Barking, Jumping, Not Eating or Other Problems?

Monday Aug 15 2011

A while ago we told our customers about an NZ website that shows you how to deal with any problems you might be having with your dog including
  • excessive barking
  • disobedience
  • pulling on the leash
  • not coming back when called
  • jumping up
We got such great feedback from people about the site that we were reminded that everyone with a dog should take a look.

It's called the Online Dog Trainer with none other than NZ's own Doggy Dan. He has a website with over 100 videos on every issue you could possibly have with training your dog.You can see very clearly from the videos what to do and his methods are simple and very effective.
The best part is that he has a special offer where you get access for 7 days for only $1.

It's well worth checking out for $1 to pick up great ideas on improving your dog's behavior from Dan, who is regarded as the best dog trainer in the country.Anyway, we strongly recommend you check it out. Just click here to visit his site.
Have a great week and stay warm....

How to Tell if Your Dog is the Right Weight

Sunday Aug 07 2011

We read an interesting article recently that stated that obesity is the number 1 problem in dogs. It causes all sorts of health issues.

As with humans, the incidence of obesity in dogs has skyrocketed over the last decade. "Junk" foods, overfeeding and lack of exercise are the main causes. On our website we have a Body Condition Score Assessment which you can use to check that your dog is at its ideal weight. We also have a Feed Calculator where you can easily see how much you should be feeding.
You can check it out here:www.petfooddirect.co.nz/feed-calculator/
The article also made another interesting comment: if you want a vet to check your dog's weight - make sure the vet himself is thin and fit! "Out-of-shape vets might also tend to overlook fatness in their patients, and they will almost certainly minimize the importance of exercise for overall health."

With no fillers, by-products or artificial ingredients, Pro Pac is the ideal food to maintain your dog's weight and overall health. You also need to feed less as the nutrition is so concentrated. We look forward to hearing from you when you need some more (and remember we have cat food as well). You can order directly online at www.petfooddirect.co.nz or call us on 0800 364 366.
